Required Autumn Term 2019 – Special Needs Teacher
(MPS/UPS + 1 or 2 SEN Allowance)
We are seeking to appoint an outstanding classroom teacher able to deliver a range of subjects, including English, Mathematics and PSHE to students with autistic spectrum conditions. We are looking for:
- An enthusiastic, versatile and committed practitioner, able to work as part of a team.
- UK Qualified Teacher Status or overseas equivalence.
- Experience or qualifications in teaching pupils with autistic spectrum conditions.
Oak Lodge School is an 11-19 Special Academy in the London Borough of Barnet. The school offers places to 195 students with a variety of needs including a significant population of young people with autistic spectrum conditions. At Oak Lodge we use an approach taken from the SCERTS Framework. This therapeutic approach to teaching, is aimed at developing engagement with learning and increased social interaction and social communication with others. As part of our team you will need to be creative as well as resilient with a significant sense of fun.
