Careers Education and Guidance
Careers Education and Guidance is promoted through class learning supported by work related activities and residential opportunities that arise across the school. There are well-established links between the school and local Further Education Colleges, Youth Training Establishments and Prospects, the local Careers Service.
A careers adviser with a specialism in learning disabilities provides guidance for students from Year 9 onwards and supports their transition into further education, training or employment according to their individual circumstances. There is a strong element of pre-vocational and work related learning within the school curriculum from Year 9. Work experience placements may be offered to students from Year 10 onwards, and throughout our Post-16 provision, depending on the needs of the students and the opportunities that become available.
